Athletic intellectual

Super smart, athletic, nice, funny (haha), sociable, and interesting...that's not to say that I've never walked into a tree while talking or unknowingly finished a race with snot on my face, but I am trying to sell myself here, so humor me! I'm actually hopelessly shy when interested in someone, so I'm not used to selling myself, but I had some help breaking this down: "Smart": I have a PhD, and a research job, I love learning, documentaries, NPR, and intelligent conversation, and I am always in at least one class (dancing and cooking are most regular). "Athletic": I got into triathlons, marathons, and semi-professional team sports in my teens and I am not giving them up yet. "Nice": I don't like that word much myself but I get it a lot: I certainly value generosity, fairness, emotional availability, good communications, responsiveness, positivity, effort, and self-improvement. BTW, if you conceptualize "nice" as simply loving your mother or "self-improvement" as a room full of people dancing in front of each other's paintings, we're on different levels. "Funny": I grew up with a Dad who was an amateur comedian, Monty Python, crazy pets, and inventive school friends. For me the funny side is usually witty, sardonic, outrageous, and thoughtful - think "Frasier"..."Sociable": I like to be out most nights: I have a lot of classes, I'm in a lot of groups, I like events and entertaining, and I like sharing experiences...BTW I tend to prefer high cultural events, like the theatre, or events that are intellectually stimulating or unusual; you'd have to be a really good conversationalist to get me to a baseball game. "Interesting": I like people who look beyond their profession or home town. I don't mind strong personalities, being corrected, or a bit of intensity or even arrogance, so long as you've got the substance to back it up.
